Faith, Family, Freedom & Hard Work

The 67th District Tradition

Following the retirement announcement of 99th District Delegate Margaret Ransone, Richmond County native Hillary Pugh Kent today announces her candidacy for the newly configured Virginia House of Delegates 67th District (formerly the 99th). “After much prayer and talks with my family, I am officially announcing my candidacy for the Virginia House of Delegates. As a mother to three boys, a wife, and a businesswoman, I am determined to continue the strong conservative leadership from our gateways of the Rappahannock throughout the entirety of the Northern Neck,” said Hillary Pugh Kent. Kent is running to preserve common-sense, conservative representation for the people of the 67th. She will continue to fight to protect parental rights and families, provide the funding and resources necessary for law enforcement at all levels, and work to promote policies that promote small business and restrict unnecessary government intrusion that stifles economic growth and initiative. “During the pandemic, we all witnessed what happens when government is handed the reins. As Thoreau said, “That government is best which governs least.” I stand strong in defense of life, our second amendment rights, our small businesses and farms and our environment,” said Kent. “ We are blessed in the 67th for having conservative and reliable representation from the local level all the way thru our congressional district. I will work to maintain that steady leadership.” Hillary Pugh Kent is a life-long servant of her community. A graduate of Randolph-Macon College, Hillary also holds a Masters of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her volunteer service has encompassed GED instruction to the incarcerated to co-founding the Warsaw-Richmond County Main Street Program, initiating the revival of Warsaw and the surrounding community in the 67th House of Delegates District. A former Outstanding Community Service Award winner from VFW, her community involvement varies from the boards of the Richmond County YMCA and the Lewis Ledwith Free Clinic to T-Ball Assistant Coach with the Richmond County Little League, as well as a youth group leader at Cobham Park Baptist Church, where she is a life-long member.
