Warsaw, Virginia – Today, Republican candidate Hillary Pugh Kent announced the endorsements of King George County leaders Sheriff Chris Giles, Clerk of Court Vic Mason, and Retired Sheriff Steve Dempsey.
"I am incredibly honored to have the support of such devoted public officials within the court system and law enforcement community," said Kent. "Together they represent decades of service and commitment to law and order in our region and our court system. I look forward to sharing their commitment to the rule of law as the 67th District Delegate."
Sheriff Chris Giles was elected Sheriff of King George County in 2019 after serving in the King George Sheriff’s Department for over 27 years. “I'm Sheriff Chris Giles, and I was elected Sheriff of King George in 2019 after serving in the King George Sheriff’s Office for over 27 years. I feel it’s important to maintain a steady continuity of communication with our elected officials, especially with the changes that occurred in criminal justice in the past few years. I’m relieved to know that after meeting with Hillary that our strong relationship will remain; she will be a voice for law enforcement and our community. She has my support.” - King George Sheriff Chris Giles
Current Clerk of Court Vic Mason is the third generation Mason serving as King George County Clerk of the Circuit Court, following his father and grandfather who was elected in 1917. “Having the opportunity to sit with her and discuss the issues relative to our area, there is no doubt that Hillary is the best candidate to serve the people of King George. I could always call on Margaret and she would get things done. With Hillary in Richmond, we are assured that reliability will continue.” - King George Clerk of Court Vic Mason
Echoing Mason’s and Giles’ sentiments, retired King George Sheriff Steve Dempsey, with almost four decades of experience, also offered his support of Kent’s candidacy. “Even in retirement, I continue to view situations within the community with a public safety perspective. We’ve been extremely fortunate to have had an active representative in Richmond for law enforcement, and I know that will continue with Hillary. I wholeheartedly support her candidacy for House of Delegates in the 67th District. She’s the best choice for King George.” - Retired King George County Sheriff Steve Dempsey
