About Senator Richard H. Stuart:
Richard Stuart has deep roots here in the Northern Neck. His family has called the Neck home for almost 300 years. Richard grew up picking sweet corn and fishing crab pots. His parents taught him what’s special about the Northern Neck—our values, our traditions, and our natural resources.
After graduating from Washington & Lee High School, he served in the U.S. Marines. He trained and served at Parris Island, continuing to learn the importance of honor, courage, and commitment.
Richard went on to become Westmoreland County Commonwealth’s Attorney. As a prosecutor, he was a proven, steady leader in fighting crime and made our community safer.
He was first elected to the Senate of Virginia in November 2007 and currently represents the 28th District as a Republican.
Richard Stuart and his wife, Lisa, live on a farm with their three children—raising the next generation of Stuarts on the Northern Neck.
